    Another big change this year is that the NCAA is going to Wins Above Bubble (WAB) as a selection criteria. Torvik uses WAB to create his bracket, and his model was in the top 7% last year in terms of teams seeded correctly., outperforming all of the prominent bracketologists. Last year we ended the season at -1.4 WAB, meaning we'd have to flip two of our losses to wins to make the cut.

    Pursuing other interests in the offseason, haha.

    I like to believe I played a part in Torvik's ranking update. A few months back I mentioned that Kansas had too high of a defensive rating after bringing in bad defenders in the portal. Torvik responded that a model using individual BPM is a lot of work, but he made it happen. It helped us out because Aziz and Dillon Mitchell have much better BPM than offensive ratings. Analytics keep getting better and better every year. Evan Miya and Bart Torvik are constantly evolving.

    Bill Comar was announced recently as the Chief of Staff. Former grad assistants Omari Prince and Malik Massey were elevated into full-time roles, with Prince as the video coordinator and Massey working with Stowe as the player development associate.

    Ashley Hecimovich has been named the Executive to the Head Coach. She was previously with the Cincinnati football program as its Director of On-Campus Recruiting. She arrived in Feb. 2022 to work under Luke Fickell. Hecimovich, who earned the One Team Employee award in Spring 2023 among the entire athletics department, previously worked in football recruiting at Western Michigan and Wake Forest.

    Drew Blair and Ken-Jah Bosley are also first-year grad assistants. Blair averaged 19.4 ppg over his Minnesota-Duluth career, and Bosley just finished a pro career and assistant coaching stint at the University of the Cumberlands. One of his playing years at Kentucky Wesleyan came under Morgan.
