theathletic.com's regional staff have made their preseason CFP projections ($). One, Chris Vannini, the G5 writer, has UC making it in. Other than UC, IA State and TX A&M, it was "Round up the usual suspects."

Being in the conversation before we play a game is three steps in the right direction. The committee uses a highly subjective process to determine who gets ranked, and perception is a huge part of it. Any conversation now increases our perception. I don't think we will get in, but our chances are not the same zero that many G5 teams have.
