Sportico published a database of athletic dept. financials from public institutions this morning. Here's the UC page:

    https://www.sportico.com/business/co...te-1234646029/

If you back up a step from there you can compare schools and conferences.

Spending 23MM less than generating is a good thing!

UC actually spent ~$5M more than revenue generated in 2022-23. If you subtract the $35M in direct institutional support, UC is in the red by about $40M.

The $40M deficit spending number has come up before it seems llike. I think it was mostly due to loss of ticket revenue and tourney/bowl payouts during in the Covid years. My recollection is that the Universiity is not supposed to subsize the Athletic Dept but it was necessary during that two year period to keep things running.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone else?

What about all the millions of dollars we qre going to receive from the Big 12 when we get our full share? Should't we be in the black then?????
