  • Darrion Sutton 2024 MO SG/SF 6'9 offer

This is the wing forward you are looking for. Gateway Academy in St. Louis. Staff is very interested. He fills an immediate need. Video is a little shaky and it looks like he's young in this clip but the skill is there.

Can’t find a lot of rating services for him, so hopefully CWM is early on a guy who has been under the radar so far.

It appears that UC and also Missouri and Illinois have recently offered Darrion. Darrion is from Missouri -- as this thread suggests -- but is now at Accelerated Schools in Colorado.

"Darrion Sutton continued his dominant summer this weekend. Had 30 pts, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, & 3 blks against DC Premier, & had 19 pts, 14 rebs, 5 asts, & 3 blks in another game. Missouri, Illinois, and Cincinnati are the latest to offer the 6’10 prospect."

Kid plays like a guard. There will be a long line for him.

247sports.com rates Sutton as a 4* wing, #125 in the nation, #2 in Colorado. He has previous 2023 offers from DePaul, Fresno State, Mississippi (Chris Beard), Rutgers, and St. John's (Rick Pitino).

Sutton was masterful at using his length and versatile skill set to blow by defenders or create separation to launch efficient jump shots. Sutton’s energy was impressive, and at 6-foot-9 with his elite ball handling and playmaking ability, he proved to be one of the toughest defensive assignments for opposing guards all weekend.

The recruitment of Darrion Sutton has picked up steam over the past couple of days. A 6-foot-9 versatile forward out of St. Louis (Mo.) Sutton has added offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Penn State, and Virginia Tech dating back to this weekend. His breakout came after performing well in both the Bill Hensley Memorial Run N' Slam and Hoop Group's Southern Jam.
                ...

Cincinnati: "Drew Adams' dad coaches for Indiana Elite. His dad saw me at the Run N' Slam event and felt their school needed me. He said he never saw a player go at Flory the way that I did. He could tell that I am a dog who loves to get better."

The article only says playing Indiana Elite was their biggest game. Any idea how much success he had stopping Flory, versus going at him hard?

I’d say this is pretty good. Sutton with the ball and Flory on D.

                      https://basketballrecruiting.rivals....-strong-spring

Sutton has been on a tear this spring with Y&R, using his 6-foot-9 frame and wide-array of offensive skills to dominate the competition. Sutton’s motor has remained in overdrive all spring, and his ability to breakdown defenders on the wing, maneuver into the lane for high percentage shots or efficiently knock down the perimeter jump shot has made him a nightmare on the wing. Sutton averaged 24 points a game last weekend at the Southern Jam Fest. His latest offers have come from Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, Penn State and Cincinnati.

No mention of UC here, but recruits don't always remember every school tracking them

Sutton has opted to head to Overtime Elite for his senior campaign per Travis Branham at 247. This does not make him ineligible for college ball if you were thinking that.
