Having said that, Somto is now with Overtime Elite https://www.on3.com/news/overtime-elite-signs-6-11-250-pound-big-man-somto-cyril/

ATLANTA – On Tuesday the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta played host to media, NBA execs, agents and others as they ran their three Overtime Elite squads through

Somto Cyril, C- Outside of [Bryson] Tiller, I felt that Cyril had the best day of any of the college eligible guys. A true physical force, Cyril was going all-out during the drills and playing with some serious physicality when the scrimmages went down. He dunks everything with serious force, rebounds and sprints the floor. As his touch and catching come around a little more, there’s real room for growth on the offensive end.

As of now, Somto Cyril seems pretty interested in the idea of staying pro, but there’s still a long way to go and the talented big man intentionally kept his college options open by accepting a scholarship deal in lieu of a professional contract with Overtime Elite. He’s already taken an official to Cincinnati, and the Bearcats are worth keeping an eye on in the coming months. Programs such as Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Tennessee and Michigan are also involved to differing extents. Kentucky has also been kicking the tires but it’s too early to tell how serious things between Cyril and the Wildcats will get.

I see the dots connecting now. Having Abdul should make Somto more comfortable

I find this one highly unlikely unless there is a huge NIL deal involved.

Overtime Elite just signed a streaming deal with Amazon. I'm assuming some of this would roll down to the players in the league (or maybe not). That might throw a wrench in this.

Is UC still recruiting him? In any event, he is #25 in the new 247 2024 rankings https://247sports.com/Season/2024-Ba...up=HighSchool/

As far as I know we are but he might go the Overtime Elite / G-League route.

Yep, I'm not sure he can get an Nil deal if he's a foreigner.

#23 on the new 2024 rankings from On3.

As mentioned in the Flory thread, not sure how much stock to put in On3's recruiting prediction algorithm but they currently list a 67% chance for UC.

I'm not sure he's even going to play in college and have not heard any updates on his recruitment.
