Per Justin Williams' article on The Athletic about Arrinten Page and Jizzle James ... Reece is the son of James' AAU coach, Steve Reece - a Cincinnati native

That article also mentioned that Reece will be here with his dad this weekend for an unofficial visit. ($)

Way too early for getting caught up in 2025 kids, but since Reece apparently just visited and has connections to Cincinnati and Jizzle James, pointing out that he is #70 in the new 2025 rankings from 247. Not going to update any of the other threads but feel free to take a look at the top 75 https://247sports.com/Season/2025-Ba...up=HighSchool/

Top-50 incoming junior Jalen Reece talks his recruitment, game

            https://stockrisers.com/s/501/top-50...cruitment-game

Which schools would you say are the heaviest involved currently?

“The schools that are the most involved are Cincinnati, Missouri, Houston, Stanford, UCF, and Georgia State.”

            ...

How about Cincinnati, thoughts on them and what is the pitch?

“Cincinnati is like my second home, so it feels good to know that they want me. They are saying that they like the way I play being a true point guard who can score at will. They want me to be a part of what they’re building.”

2025 point guard Jalen Reece is certainly worth monitoring. Reece’s father, who coaches him in both the high school and grassroots level, has strong ties to the area. The fact that he was teammates with current Bearcat Edgerrin James Jr., could also play a role. I expect the Bearcats to be a serious player until the end with Reece, who averaged 8.8 points and 4.4 assists per game in five outings at 16U Peach Jam this month.

Four-Star PG Jalen Reece recaps visits to Ohio State, LSU, Cincinnati & talks recruitment

                    https://www.on3.com/news/jalen-reece...s-recruitment/

Cincinnati: “It was a great visit. It’s always good to be home — I have family there. I’m close with Jizzle James so he told me a lot about the place. Just knowing that’s a place I could be, going back home, it would be cool. I was born in Orlando but I’ve spent a lot of time in Cincinnati. My family is from there.

“(The relationship with the coaching staff) is good. They call me a lot, text me a lot. They’re really active. So knowing that they want me, that’s good to know.”

ON PROGRAMS MOST INVOLVED WITH HIM AS THINGS STAND

"Cincinnati, UCF ... Michigan just offered me. Ohio State is still involved. Providence has been really involved lately. They’ve been active.”

                      ON VISITS HE’S ALREADY TAKEN

“I went to Providence on an unofficial. I went to LSU and Ohio State and Cincinnati, too.”

                      ...

                      ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH CINCINNATI

“It’s going well. I love coach Wes (Miller). You know Jizzle is up there — that’s my big brother for real. He motivates me and tells me to keep playing hard and everything else will work out.”

ON WHAT JAMES TELLS HIM ABOUT THE BEARCAT PROGRAM

                      ...

“He tells me that it’s a great environment and that the culture is good. He keeps me updated on everything at Cincinnati.” *****

                      RIVALS' REACTION

Reece'sfather being from Ohio and having ties to Cincinnati plays in the favor of the Bearcats. So does the fact that the four-star guard's close friend Jizzle James remains on the Bearcats roster. Hometown UCF feels like a real player as well, as do Providence and Michigan. Missouri shouldn’t be ruled out, either.

Interesting that he has three schools in Ohio listed. Breaking it down even further, 1 - SEC team, 2- B1G team, 1 - AAC team, 1 -A10 team, 1- Big East team (not in Ohio), and 1- Big 12 team. It seems that he is more interested in the schools versus the conference.
