He said he has gotten more offers but wants to play at a place that feels like home
from on3(3) CINCINNATI: “Cincinnati is amazing, it feels like home over there. You know, my dad (Dontonio Wingfield) went there, so I’m familiar with the program. My relationship with Coach Chad (Dollar) is really good, I can’t even lie. It just feel like home with him, like he’s my uncle, you know. They got a big campus up there and all their facilities are nice.”

Travis Branham of 247 says that Ole Miss, South Carolina, Georgia and Cincinnati are making a push for Dontonio's son. Jalan is ranked #100 in the 247 composite rankings.

In the article, Wingfield's quote wasn't exactly encouraging for UC fans. Paraphrasing: My dad was a legend there, so people think I'm going there.

I see Xavier is out. Maybe someone told him all of the horrible things their fans said about his father. I remember those days and it was brutal.

He also said in the same article that Cincinnati feels like home and coach Dollar feels like an uncle. Dontonio wasa great player, and broke ground for Bob playing freshmen. I would love if his son chose the Bearcats.
Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

I cannot think of anyone who followed in their father's footsteps and came to UC.

Not in basketball, yet. Both Dingle brothers followed their dad in football, and I think there have been a few other football legacies.
