    Halvine Dzellat-Diakeno 2024 France PF 6'10 commit

Wes Miller gave Chad Brendel the green light to reveal the name of the French big that they are pursuing. Brendel said they are far enough down the road that, despite the chance that this could fall through, they believe it will be settled very shortly.

Halvin Dzellat-Diakeno is a 20-year-old 6'10" PF who captained the French U20 team that captured the FIBA gold medal this year. He's known for his ability to guard multiple positions and rebound at a good rate. His offensive game needs work. The staff intend to red-shirt him this year to develop and learn the system. I find it groovy that CWM and the staff are looking at every avenue to bring a winner to Cincy.

Will he be on the 24/25 roster as redshirt, and is he in class yet? I agree, kudos to Wes for exploring every avenue, but this seems way out of left field for him to practice this year.

If this works out, he'd be a red-shirt freshman this season, learning the system to be able to contribute in 2025-26. He would be one fewer player that the staff would need to bring in, with a good number of current players either certain or likely to move on (Bandaogo, Lukošius, Thomas, Hickman, Fredrick; possibly Skillings, James, Mitchell).

If he were ranked, how many stars would he get?

Given his stats and competition, I'd guess 2 possibly 3 stars, but Wes sees something in him, so I trust Wes. Given the talent Wes has brought in the last 3 years along with a redshirt season, my guess is Halvine Dzellat will be a solid backup to Page and we will explore a true center for 25/26.

                    Joining UC per Chad Brendel
BREAKING: Cincinnati is adding French big man Halvin Dzellat to the roster for the 2024-25 season. My understanding is he will redshirt this year, but will be able to practice and on the roster going forward. #Bearcats

Seems he’s played against some pretty good competition.

is this kid in town this weekend? I saw a young man hanging with Aziz and some other bball players at the pitt game - looked to be about Aziz's height, but thin as a rail

Was it this guy? Your description sounds more like Toni Bryant.

Toni Bryant is a class of 2026 Florida high school basketball player for . Read more about him on Prep Hoops.

                              Or this guy?
