With the signing of Shon Abaev, 247sports.com's composite ranking has the Bearcats at #25 nationally. However, in terms of talent quality, UC are #4. The total ranking also takes into account the number of signees, for which the Cats have just two (not uncommon).

So far, 18 5* players have committed. Of those, 10 belong to Duke (4), Houston (3) and UConn (3). KS and AR have 2 each, with UK, Notre Dame, and MI chiming in with 1 apiece.

The Bearcats sit at #4 in B12 ranking (UH, KU, ISU ahead).

Nothing solid. They reportedly paid a pretty penny to get Abaev here, reducing the amount of NIL that they had allocated for HS talent. More likely, they'll fill the remaining open slots via the portal.
