Jalen Haynes 6'8 PF transfer commit (GMU)

Haynes has transferred to UC from George Mason. Wide body PF who will give us some beef up front. His nickname is Big Slime. He averaged 18/10 in the A-10

Welcome aboard! Reminds me of the Jamille Reynolds commit two years ago. Hopefully more impactful.

Based on videos from GMU that were posted on X. This guy has a lot of skills, uses his body well , has good post moves, good footwork and uses the glass well. His use of the glass in highlights remind me of Herb Jones and Fortson. I think this might be a really good pickup

That remains to be seen as those two are Bearcat royalty. This is good news though and I truly hope he plays tuff in the BiG 12. I am so looking forward to a bruising UC STYLE rebounder. Time to kick a under the glass.

He's got physical tools but will need to cut down on fouls and turnovers to play starter minutes. Haynes fouled out of 5 games this year and had 5 games with 5+ turnovers. 4.6 fouls per 40 minutes and a 20% turnover rate for the season. But he's got interior scoring and rebounding ability with solid defense.

Looks like he might be capable of playing taller than his actual height…akin to an Eric Hicks, maybe???

                        Boy, would that be nice.

I just hope he has a attitude like Hicks. I'm a little put off at how we have been pushed around in the B12 so far. I want players who will show the B12 what bearcat bball used to be.

That's cool. At least he shows he cares about wanting the ball, wants to win, and isn't going to be intimidated.
