@DraftExpress: "@DraftExpress: NEWS: Baylor transfer Jalen Celestine has committed to Cincinnati, Mike Simonetta of Life Sports Agency tells ESPN. The Ajax, Ontario native is a career 38% 3-point shooter with 109 games of high-major experience."

The 6'7, 215 lb. Canadian was at Cal for four years, which included missing 22-23 (recovering from offseason knee surgery) before averaging 8.7 points in 23-24. He transferred to Baylor this past year, where he posted 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, starting in about 1/3 of Baylor's contests (8 and 7 versus UC). Jalen is coming off a 38% / 35.4% / 76.9% season -- with career numbers including 35.4% from 3 and 76.9% from the FT line, though hasn't gotten to the line much. His best Big 12 game was 18 points, 7 rebounds against Kansas State. He played in 33 minutes of Baylor's first round NCAA win (6 and 8) and hit a 3 in 20 minutes versus Duke in round two. Jalen played high school ball at Long Island Lutheran (NY), which has produced a lot of D1 talent including VJ Edgecombe (Baylor) and Syracuse-bound Kiyan Anthony.

I love his experience, and am as excited to have him as a player as I am to have him mentor Shon and the other younger guys. Welcome to the Bearcat Family Mr Celestine.

"Jalen is a big-time wing. He has a ton of experience at the highest levels of college basketball, and he understands how to win. His positional size and ability to guard multiple positions will be extremely important to our team. Offensively, Jalen is very dynamic. His three-point shooting speaks for itself, but he also has a strong combination of ball skills and playmaking that will add to our team."
