Transfer Portal 2026

Only partially. There are two other factors. The staff have determined that there are virtually no available, ready-now players left in the portal. Plus, CJC has a philosophy of building a program with a blend of ready players and developmental talent. He has said that will always be the case. He and his staff have not had time to build relationships with the current crop of the few highly talented 2026 HS kids that remain and, just as importantly, their coaches (and handlers).

He averaged a 0.1 BPM over the last 9 games. Definitely showed progress. Still some bad shooting games in there despite scoring a lot of points, but he took better care of the ball. Only two games with a TO rate above 13% in that 9 game stretch after 14 such games before that.Originally posted by Bearcat Bounce View Post
Sedz, is there a way to break down his numbers from his final 9 games or so? It appeared he started playing better towards the end of the season. Hopefully it will give the fans a little more optimism regarding his commitment.

If he ( Fleming ) was holding out for his ( his agents ) asking price and has aspirations of going pro next season , as has been speculated, then surely he knows that he's not going to start with those kind of numbers. He's only a freshman so like you said. maybe he can achieve or surpass Keith williams like quotients.

I think I mentioned after 2 seasons. I meant 2 under CJC and staff. I saw his reel. He had some twitch to his game. Now he needs coaching and some involvement in the game plan. As was mentioned, he never visited the campus. He seemed to like CJC style and the money too. I think that is the current state of BB today. At least he considered coaching instead of just nice cars.Originally posted by Rufus View PostIf he ( Fleming ) was holding out for his ( his agents ) asking price and has aspirations of going pro next season , as has been speculated, then surely he knows that he's not going to start with those kind of numbers. This is a major test on CJC ability to coach em up. A space was made and money was raised for him, Remember let see first year improvement and second year earning his spot and his paycheck. The staff choose him over the HS kid who went to Oklahoma. Time will tell. Past stats are nice, but a young player often matures and a different coaching staff also helps.Remember CJC loves the developmental. You don't need to hit on all, but you do need to hit on some. here's hoping.

The problem with developmental talent is that they "develop" for a year, then hit the portal...we have seen that up close and personal the past couple of years.Originally posted by swilsonsp4 View Post

very true, but CJC seemed to have kept his squads. We will have to see. Plus, there has been a major influx of NIL $$ coming in since WM left.Originally posted by Oldtimer_UC_fan View Post

well what we would have had if WM was still here. Thiam was gone because his coach couldn't think to get a 7-2 guy the ball while allowing a low % guard to dribble away. Shon A and WM had their differences. Sure Tillery and perhaps Buck as well as the frosh, but basically a whole new rebuild. At least we can hope to have a better x&o coach on the court. Perhaps a team playing better and increased NIL $ can out weigh WM's ability to recruit. Then again, we have not seen CJC's ability with a year in the BIG 12 and not just a week in the off-season. All in all we have to wait and see and if it doesn't pan out, then the damn will break. Right now most of the community, former players and deep pockets are back. We would not have seen that if WM was back. Its a start.Originally posted by Oldtimer_UC_fan View Post
Let's hope that trend continues.Last edited by leo from jersey; Today, 08:47 AM.

Sounds like a fair plan to me. Teams should be able to capitalize on the money spent.Originally posted by leo from jersey View PostRyan Day of tOSU who has some clout is going for a 2 year commitment on all recruits and transfers. So many come their frosh year and if they are not the centerpiece, they go elsewhere. Will this get done? It may be difficult, but you know most coaches are in agreement.

Has there really been a major influx? I see lots of people saying that, but none of our signees are really break the bank kind of players.Originally posted by leo from jersey View Post

This is why I believe UC was smart to sign Sorsby to a deal that included the buyout. We don't know the exact terms only that, according to UC, Sorsby left before the terms permitted him to leave. If more schools adopted this model, it might generate some stability.Originally posted by Oldtimer_UC_fan View Post

Well even for entry level it was higher this year and last - two of them were 5 million total maybe more.I think we will see it next year when CJC has been here a year. Many of the big ones committed early and many deep pockets waited until the push was on from former players and other deep pockets. Many returned with Huggs.Originally posted by longtimefan View Post
