CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati blew away its competition in the American Athletic Conference's Academic Excellence awards, as the Bearcats claimed 10 of 18 possible sports to pace the league and set an AAC record.

UC accomplished the feat in men's and women's basketball, men's cross country, football, lacrosse, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's tennis and men's indoor and outdoor track and field. In all, 299 student-athletes were honored individually

That's worthy of congratulations. Well done bearcats one and all. This is the stuff that schools should aspire to separating themselves from the others, rather than separating to form a blueblood, perennially always in everybody's polls football clique.

If/when the podcast drops, if anyone can drop some knowledge in here that would be great...

Rothstein tweet: Wes Miller tells me that he feels Viktor Lakhin has a chance to make a major jump for Cincinnati next season. The 6-11 Lakhin averaged 4.2 PPG and 3.5 RPG last season in 10.9 MPG.

3 projected starters are transfers. Just my observation.

It wouldn't surprise me to see MAW and JNew start, at least early in the season until others settle in.

The non con schedule hasn't been announced yet. We might see that this week. Some other schools released them yesterday.
