UCF is coming in on a 4 game losing streak. They 13-8 overall and 4-5 in conference. That's good for 6th place in the AAC currently. This was a team a lot of people had penciled in to a 3rd spot in the NCAAs for the American and they've fallen apart in the month of January.

The Knights are led by freshman Taylor Hendricks at the F spot. He's averaging 14 and 7. The team as a whole is balanced scoring and is primarily a defensive squad. UC might be advised to try and speed them up a bit. Familiar faces on the team include Brandon Suggs (ex-ECU) and Michael Durr (ex-USF). Durr in particular at 7'0", might give Viktor Lakhin some problems if he can defend pick and roll. UCF rebounds well from the guard position based on the stats below.

UCF is #66 in the NET -- good for a Quad 2 home game. UC is 0-5 versus Q1 and 1-2 versus Q2

Hendricks is a likely one-and-done first round pick in the 2023 draft

Durr averaged 8.8 and 7.9 in 26.4 minutes in the COVID year at USF, then was a total non-factor for 95% of the season last year at IU (1.5 and 1.0 in 7.1 mins) and is at 4.9 and 4.6 in 21.1 in his super senior year at UCF.

He rarely plays, but we have a great name for Dan Hoard to pronounce: Poohpha Warakulnukroh

    Fans attending should wear white

Durr's been out with a hand injury for the past 4 weeks - which has probably coincided a bit with their recent losing streak.

If you haven't left for 5/3 yet, wear white and bring some canned food. Bearcat Pantry is doing a food drive today.

The UCF game is a BIG game for UC. This game is at home. This game will help to tip the scales for the remaining of UC's season. Let's be clear here. This is a MUST WIN game for UC. I remember the season when Cronin had to take a medical leave and Larry Davis (ex UC basketball coach) had to coach the team for the remaining of the season. UC needed to win 5 of their last 6 games, or something like that, to get off the bubble. Larry Davis said that every remaining game was a series of one game championships. To me, the UCF game represents a one game championship. UC has to win this game to give themselves a chance at post-season play. We will see what happens.

UCF's defense is going to test the 'cats ability to create some open shots
