Starting this early to discuss seeding....

The problem with us being in the 4/5 seed spot is we have to play Houston in the 2nd game. We need to root for the opponents of Memphis and Tulane (they both have 4 games left while we only have 2) and hope they pick up a couple more losses so we can jump one of them to get to the 3. Best case scenario is somone else knocks off Houston and we don't have to play them in the tournament... but highly unlikely at this point.

Tulane currently holds a tiebreaker over UC since they are 2-0 against Memphis. Therefore, we'd need Tulane to lose 3 of their 4 final games to jump them in the standings (on top of us winning out).

It's hard to see this happening even though Tulane will finish the season with an exhausting stretch of 4 games in 8 days. 3 of those games will be at home (Wichita St, ECU, & Temple) while their lone road game is at ECU.

So that takes us to Memphis, who we need to beat on Sunday for any conversation about a top 3 seed to continue. Regardless of how Memphis does in tonight's game against Wichita St and next week's midweek game against SMU, if we beat Memphis and Memphis loses to Houston at home in their regular season finale, we'll hold a tiebreaker over them (due to having a better record against Tulane).

Unless Tulane loses their final 3 games, we're all but locked into the 4/5 game for the quarterfinals of the AAC tournament.

Temple is looking like the most likely opponent but it's possible we could face UCF or Wichita St in that game as well.

As for Houston, who would be on our side of the bracket, they are likely looking at a quarterfinal match-up against USF.

As of earlier this week, we were a lock for the NIT. There is a NIT bracketology.

There have already been a bunch (6) of #1 conf tourney seeds that have gone down in league tourneys and therefore get NIT auto bids

This is the latest and it says UC a 4 seed. You have to scroll down past the NCAA. Bracketology 2023 - NCAA Tournament / NIT Projections (dratings.com)

Not an AAC topic, but it should be mentioned that NKU won the Horizon and is headed to the NCAA tournament.

ECU and USF tipped off short while ago in front of what is essentially a Covid-19 era crowd. Aside from the bands and cheer squads, there might be a few dozen people in the stands.
