New Post-Season Tournament?

This article is interesting in that it was written by Seth Davis and was not for the Athletic. Looks like Seth has jumped ship or gotten the boot by the NYT folks. He hasn't wrritten anything under the Athletic banner since mid July. Makes me wonder if he's Triily Donovan and on a non compete clause on his way out.

Anyway, FOX Sports wants to plant a post season tourney in Vegas. The article is in the Messenger, which is owned by the same guy who owns The HIll website and the Hollywood Reporter.

I took this excerpt from today's Extra Points newsletter. Matt Brown basically says logisitically this is bad and FOX is trying for a made for TV event in a walled garden it controls the broadcast rights to. I'm with Matt.

"Teams that go 16-15 in the regular season aren’t typically gearing up to play an extensive postseason tournament in late March…they’re usually firing their coach or combing through the transfer portal."
