Walk on CJ Anthony will be red shirted. This preserves a year of eligibility with him so he'll able to grad transfer and play D-1 elsewhere next season. Smart move by everyone here.

And yet, is it bad to hope their play this year turns that around? I will not be un-happy if one or more of Simas, Aziz, Jizzle, Skillings or others play so well they get into NBA draft conversations. Nor will we be unhappy if Skillings/Jizzle/Mitchell/Betsey/Rayvon enter the draft early due to team and individual success.

Any mock draft at this time of year should be taken with a grain of salt. Jizzle, Skillings, and Mitchell are all legitimate NBA prospects but will need to improve crucial aspects of their game over the course of this season to play their way into the draft. I'd be very surprised if at least one of them didn't find their name being called next June.

saw it too. Perhaps some will jump overseas unless the NIL is close. Regardless, a big season is needed if any will be drafted. I can live with that.

No doubt about the fan disappointment being misplaced. The man was hit by a car in December, hard enough to break the windshield.

I think fans are placing zero expectations on him, but let's not forget CJ Fredrick started in 10 of his 15 games last year too.

Is it just me or does it feel like Simas Lukosius is the forgotten player here? Seems like when Dillon Mitchell committed there were talks of him taking Simas' spot. And if you wanted to play Jizzle and Day Day together or potentially start Connor, then you might think Simas comes off the bench.

Everyone remembers Jizzle's play in the NIT (without splitting time with Day Day), but Simas was really the guy late in the season.

Simas averaged 16.3 ppg in his last 10 games (42% from three) and 19.5 over the six postseason games (46% from deep) -- including several big / clutch shots.
He usually took the last shot. Enough said.

Dillon has never hit a 3 in college. I think Simas is safe unless Tim Buckley is a wizard.

The intention coming in was for Dzellat to practice as a red-shirt, with NIL covering his academic expenses (plus some, I'm sure). However, with the rumored ACL injury to Tyler McKinley, Dzlellat may wind up playing some. CWM, in his interview with Jon Rothstein, said he likes to rotate 9-to-10 players through significant minutes of game action. He recognized that some coaches like to shorten their rotations to about 7 or so, but he wants to play fast and pressure the other team (which doesn't necessarily imply constant 94' pressing, just constant tight D).

Halvine Dzellat will apparently wear #65 -- that's a new one

Halvine rhymes with Calvin / Dzellat pronounced Zell-uh

I am not sure how accurate this is, but also:
    - They moved Jizzle James from 6'1 185 to 6'3 205 lbs. -- if he really grew two inches, look out
    - CJ Frederick went from 190 to 185 lbs.
    - Rayvon Griffith apparently shrank an inch in his RS year, now 6'6 but up 5 lbs ...
    - Tyler McKinley listed at 240 lbs. (220 in signing announcement in November)
    - Tyler Betsey listed at 225 lbs. (185 in signing announcement in November)
    - Dillon Mitchell +5 lbs. from his Texas bio, up to 220
    - Arrinten Page down 5 lbs. to 240
