Kind of interesting how the Big 12 has earned a reputation as the current best conference in CBB and just added Houston, among others, yet does not have that many ranked teams.

Also worth noting, that Maryland is one of the first teams outside the Top 25, and they are #22 on KenPom's preseason projections. As noted in another thread, UC scrimmaged against Maryland yesterday without Reynolds or Bandaogo playing and lost by just 4.

Get to 7-0 ahead of the X game (beat GT this week, win at Howard and beat a tough FGCU the following week) and I think voters will start taking notice.

On a related note, the X game will be the first game this season in which UC will not be on a streaming only platform. You'd have to think that not beating any big names while also not being on regular TV could be a factor -- particularly as many notable November tournaments have been or are being played.



UPDATE: FGCU just fell to 1-5 with its lone win over an NAIA team by nine points. Disregard "tough" ...
