Senior Day, and these guys deserve our thanks. It will be interesting to see who walks out, as John Newman and Ody Oguama are the only two out of eligibility. It’s a Wear Red game, so get there early to thank our seniors.Tags: None

It’s a confirmationOriginally posted by Rufus View Post
Is that a hint that Dan S. is not planning on graduating near future from here? That he may turn pro after next year if deemed draftable?

It was great to see Huggs wearing red and black.
Good to see the Martins there too.
Now if just we could see the Big O one more time.

Cincinnati played domination ball on both sides of the floor yesterday against WV. UC scored 92 points in a BIG 12 conference game. Where has all this scoring been all conference season? In fact, this is the first conference game in the BIG 12 where UC won BOTH HALVES. If UC can continue to score in its tournament games, who knows what can happen. In tournament play it is very important for teams NOT to have many scoring droughts. If UC can stay hot on the offensive side and continue to play decent defense, it may have a chance to advance in tournament play.
This was a surprising blowout win. How many of you saw this type of win coming? Cincinnati, still, has TOO MANY LOSSES. However, it is good to see the seniors go out with a win. By the way, Oguama had an amazing 3 minutes. It is a shame that he did not play more this conference season. UC probably would not have as many losses had Oguama played more.
Let's keep the mood happy. Good win for UC. A great feel-good moment that will be remembered for a long time. Go get them Cincinnati in Kansas City.Last edited by leeraymond; 03-10-2024, 02:00 AM.

My hope is that the Cats make the WVU team quit again in the tourney.

Wes said on his radio show they only honor people who have exhausted their eligibility (didn’t honor Newman or Oguama last year when they could’ve … I guess Davenport and MAW too)Originally posted by Lobot View PostNewman, Ody, Long and Kirkwood were the only guys who walked today for Senior Day. Take that into account when someone starts the 24-25 Roster thread.

Both Coach Wes and Dan were trying to tell you something without spelling it out.Originally posted by GoBearcats31 View PostGood watch here, especially when Wes talks about Ody (and John) and when Dan is asked about his own Senior Day in a couple years https://youtu.be/33BMRNKG4jg?si=g3UqCZK22-F6thHi

Everything was working in this game. We scored 1.40 points per possession, our second highest output of the entire season (just behind FGCU). We converted an insane 21 of 24 at the rim including 9 dunks. Even the midrange was kind for us, as we made 7 of 10. We only had 11 offensive boards, but since we didn't miss much we still pulled down over 45% of available offensive rebounds. We had 23 assists to only 9 turnovers.
The defense was also great, as we allowed just 0.85 points per possession, our second best performance in conference (after BYU). WVU converted just 6 of 16 at the rim and 7 of 19 from midrange.
Lots of great performances today, but Day Day takes player of the game with 5.1 net points and a 12.1 box plus minus (11.1 of that on the defensive end). He had 7 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and no turnovers. Day Day completely shut down Kriisa who had a game worst negative 8.7 net points with only 6 points, zero assists, and 3 turnovers.
Newman was our best offensive player, posting 14 points on a perfect 7 for 7 inside the arc while adding 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals in a memorable senior day performance.
I have to note that the best player statistically while on the court was Landen Long, who nailed a three in one minute of action. Chris Kirkwood was just behind with a pair of three throws. Ody got in there with a bucket and a board too. What a way to go out.
