Senior Day, and these guys deserve our thanks. It will be interesting to see who walks out, as John Newman and Ody Oguama are the only two out of eligibility. It’s a Wear Red game, so get there early to thank our seniors.

Last time UC hosted WVU on Senior Day - March 2006, a 78-75 win. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...nia-cincinnati
Andy Kennedy was the interim HC, Bob Huggins showed up for his seniors (Hicks, White, Muhammad, Moore and injured Kirkland).
Hicks/White/Muhammad/Downey combined for 66 of UC's 78 points. Connor Barwin and Ronald Allen combined for 3 mins and 0 stats accumulated.
Kevin Pittsnoggle had 23 for the John Beilein-led Mountaineers. Beilein coached one more season at WVU before heading to Michigan and being replaced by Huggins.

If we are talking UC making a miracle run to a tournament championship and autobid, #10 seed would need 4 wins in 4 days and #11 seed would need 5 in 5. The latter seems much harder.
Last year, #13 Ohio State was in a similar position in the Big Ten, knocking off #12 Wisconsin, upsetting #5 Iowa and #4 Michigan State before falling to #1 Purdue. Purdue was a tall task (well, literally) but OSU seemed to run out of gas -- got up 29-21 before PU finished the first half on a 21-5 run and never turned back. The odds of OSU winning that and being ready for another game the next day? Extremely slim.
Maybe there are teams that have done it. But I don't recall any.

With Miller and this UC team, let's take one game at a time. Beating WV is NOT going to be easy. WV creates all types of match-up problems for UC. Jesse Edwards is going to be a problem inside, Slazinski may be a problem if he gets open looks from 3. Also, Slazinski is a 6"9' forward. UC's guards are going to have their hands full checking Kriisa and Battle. I do not know about this game. Senior Day is always filled with many distractions. Sometimes the graduating seniors try too hard to make things happen because their family members are present and this is their LAST HOME GAME.
For games like Senior Day games, the coach has got to really have his players attention and keep their heads in the moment. I really hope that Miller can keep this team together Saturday. No hero ball, no one man fast breaks, no wild shots, no crazy fouls, no low probability 3 point shots, and no reckless play. Man, I hope UC can get this win tomorrow. That will give this team some confidence going into the BIG 12 Tournament.

I don't know of any 5 game title runs.

X did it in 2006, but the A10 wasn't a real conference.
I don't know of any 5 game title runs.
The Georgia one in 2008 was especially wild in that a tornado caused them to change venues and UGA actually won its last three games over the course of two days (Thursday, Friday PPD and moved to Saturday, a second game on Saturday and Sunday)
Michigan in 2017 was another 4 in 4 days, which started with Michigan plane sliding off the runway on the way to D.C.
In any event, go Cats! Beat WVU

In the first game we got torched by Jesse Edwards in the PnR. Edwards had 17 rim attempts by himself. That's more than some teams put up in a game. The PnR was working in the second half, WVU kept going to it, and we did nothing to stop it. Our bigs were getting caught in between on almost every play. They weren't hedging the screen, and they weren't staying with Edwards. They were basically guarding nobody.
WVU's PnR can be tough to guard because Kriisa is such a good three point shooter off the dribble. You don't want to have the big stick with Edwards and leave Kriisa open off the screen. I think we should hedge those screens hard, and help off of Josiah Harris, Kobe Johnson, or Noah Farrakhan when Edwards rolls. Harris, Johnson, and Farrakhan aren't good shooters. I'd much rather have them open with the ball than Edwards dunking every play.
We also got outscored by 10 at the free throw line, which we should be addressing after the Oklahoma game. Part of the problem is we don't get to the line much ourselves.
