Wes had a ~30 min interview with Chad and company for the Cincy Reigns 513 Day event on Monday and scheduling was a topic of conversation.

No major updates were shared, but Wes made it a point of emphasis to talk about how grueling the Big 12 schedule was/will be next season and the need to attain a sense of balance with the non-conference schedule. He thinks the Big 12 was definitely the best all-around conference last season but was just too burned out by the start of the postseason and that was reflected with the poor tournament results.

He called out the fanbase for getting outnumbered by Dayton fans downtown last season with the hope that we capture a larger share of the crowd at Heritage Bank next season.

Future opponent Villanova hasn't had a great offseason but this is good news for them (and probably UC's strength of schedule):

@John_Fanta: Eric Dixon is withdrawing from the NBA Draft and returning to Villanova for his fifth season, sources tell Fox Sports. The All-Big East Second Team selection averaged 16.6 PPG and 6.5 RPG this past year on 47% from the floor. One of the best returning players in the conference.

They also recently got a transfer commitment from Enoch Boakye, a 6'10 4th-year center from Fresno State who averaged 7.5 ppg and 7.7 rpg last season.

They were really bad last year (KenPom #331) and lost 4 of their top 5 players to the portal/graduation.

They'll have quite a bit of roster turnover but appear to return 3 of their top 5 players from last season (KenPom #259).
