As I get ready for the start of the season, I was ruminating on some random @Big12Conference thoughts:
1. I’m not sure anybody realizes how good Houston’s @EmanuelSharp_ will be. Combine him with LJ Cryer and @UHCougarMBK have more than enough perimeter offense to win it all. The defense & rebounding should be better than last year.
2. @CycloneMBB@TaminLipsey was 1st Team All @Big12Conference last year & was probably operating at 70% from late January on because of a major shoulder injury. Surgery seems to have fixed that issue.
3.I don’t want @BaylorMBB fans to get too excited but VJ Edgecombe reminds me an awful lot of a young Dwyane Wade. Had a chance to work D Wade out at @MarquetteMBB camp the summer before his freshman year.
4. @KUHoops@kj_atx Adams is STILL one of the most underrated players in the country. He’s one of those player, like Draymond Green, who’s actually better, the better his team is.
5. @GoBearcatsMBB is as deep as any team in the Big 12 outside of maybe Houston. I believe they are vastly underrated nationally. In my mind, they have seven or eight starters.
6. My best advice for the four new teams: Win your home games. @BYUMBB was 7-2 at home in 1st season & coasted into NCAA Tournament. @ArizonaMBB home court gives them the chance to be 9-1.

Predicted 7th: "Cincy coach Wes Miller has hit big on in-house developments with Dan Skillings Jr. and Day Day Thomas and has a roster full of continuity on which to build that is a true rarity in today's college basketball. The Bearcats were fiesty at times in their first season in the Big 12 last year with wins at BYU and Texas Tech and an impressive Big 12 tourney win over Kansas, but more is expected after a 7-11 conference finish given all it returns. They have plenty of size with Aziz Bandaogo down low and scorers aplenty, including rising sophomore Jizzle James."
Garry Parrish and Jerry Palm picked them 6th; the other five picked them between 7 and 9 (the 9 was a dude I've never heard of)
I don't care what anyone else thinks but that is obscene. It's an obscene amount of money to pay to one player, and it's obscene because of the direction that amateur sports is headed today. How do they justify that to the other members of the team? How long is it going to be before they start having to cap the spending on players salaries.
