Most G-League players — outside of the Ignite program — are not earning big money (an average of $40,000/year). The NCAA considers that low of a salary as covering “actual and necessary expenses,” like living costs, travel, housing, etc. Players who were making above the “necessary expenses” have to pay back the difference.Originally posted by bearcatbret View PostOff topic but I just saw a video of Izzo ripping the NCAA for allowing G League players to come back to college and play. Does anyone know more about this ruling?
With that logic, the NCAA determined that G-League players aren’t truly professionals in the way the old rule defined it. Under the new approach, G-League players could be deemed eligible for college basketball if they’re still within five year of their high school graduation

I like the 8th rating. Kind of non committal.Particularly after last year's fiasco.

Agreed. I think at least two of the listed starters will be different come November. I can't really argue that his ranking is wrong given how loaded the rest of the conference is, though I think we will finish 6th-8th place at worst. Hopefully much higher.Originally posted by swilsonsp4 View PostHere's CJ Moore's stab at a preseason ranking of the B12 basketball teams ($). He doesn't think much of the Bearcats. I also don't think he got the starting lineup right.

Okie State, the sole B12 entry in the NIT, just took down $MU in Dallas, 85-83. The Cowboys move on to the 3rd round after disproving the Mustangs' and the ACC's value once again.

Interesting stuff, swilsonsp4 . Our conference (outside of Houston) is not quite as top heavy as the SEC and their handful of teams good enough to beat anybody on the road (but by small margins). And as you point out, we don't have terrible teams like Miami or BC who lost multiple home games by 26 points. That 43% road win in the B1G is surprising. For all the complaining those teams do about travel, they perform better on the road than other conference.
