Many of us predicted us to drop at least one non-conference game, so if this ends up being our sole loss, it's a semi-forgivable one (despite how poorly Villanova had been playing to start the season).

We're going to be a much more competitive team with Skillings healthy.

Credit to Jizzle for being the only player to show up from start to finish tonight.

Hopefully a number of other players got the rude awakening necessary to raise their games from this point forward.

This loss, might be a good wake up call with X only a few games away! Let's see how we respond to Howard on Sunday!

I do believe that the blueprint is in .Put pressure on the guard- deny the lob - don't allow any penetration - Thus they will panic instead of passing and once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hero ball and all the air balls that come with it. Do you think the Cats will see some zones this year?

I saw a lack of passing, out of control penetration and he was beaten time and time again on defense. You might score 20, but when you give up with your total game 40, that is the recipe for defeat. He had no skill to beat the zone. S.L> was the only one at the finish and at the start JJ was beaten on hois perimeter defense. He went back to hero ball as he could do nothing else. I just don't see it.

We see zones every year dating back to Cronin. It's not just Wes, they are a pain the butt.

No ability to score against a zone defense, a consistent problem under CWM. Leo is right - play zone defense and let the ‘Cats self destruct.

some teams have beaten them. Of course you need a floor leader to do so. The Cats may be a year away.

Yet somehow 4 other unranked no/low kenpom teams beat Villanova. That’s coaching.

Yeah, a bit of an unfortunate blueprint for beating UC . I just look at this game & think man, will this be another XU loss? They are quite a bit better than Villanova.

Terry Nelson to CWM - How does this help you - CWM ah------------Then a mediocre attitude on greatness with the team. So a lack of alertness on both ends. Perhaps they will see that teams have players too.

I was at the game & we were never in it. Our bigs were nonexistent.
                          very disappointing performance 🥲

This is on CWM. You have the talent to compete so get it together or get out of dodge.

I'm tired of hearing about a floor leader. Of course every team aspires to that. We just need a team to play as coached to their potential.

We lost this game at the rim. Only converted 8 of 15 there (barely 50%). And we let their best player get to the rim 7 times. Neither of those can happen against good teams.

Jizzle was our best player with 4.9 net points. Luckily he was hitting from midrange, converting 5 of 10. This could have been really ugly otherwise. Mitchell also had a nice game, leading with a 6.2 defensive BPM.

Hickman, Aziz, and Page all had negative net points. We were getting abused at the rim, and the stats show it. Our 8 point deficit at the free throw line accounted for the entire margin of victory.

Brickus was the best player on the court tonight, putting up 5.6 net points, scoring an efficient 11 points from the field on only 8 shots and adding 9 assists with zero turnovers.
