While teams like Iowa State and Houston are elite because of their coaching/culture/style of play, I think Kansas has the most talented top 8 of any team in the league.
Flory Bidunga has been playing 17 minutes/game off the bench since the start of Big 12 play and is shooting an insane 82.4% from the field on the season. He's only shooting 47% (7/15) from the foul line though.

Cincinnati is not likely to be good enough for 40 minutes to win this one. Kansas has insane conference numbers, They are outscoring their conference opponents by 23, they are out-rebounding teams by 14, they are holding teams to 55 points a game, teams are only shooting 32.6% from two, and 25.7% from three. UC, with its defensive and shooting woes (not to mention the .52% free throw average and that conference opponents are outscoring UC on the free throw line by 8 (15.3 to 7.3)), will give Kansas some resistance but will be dominated somewhere in the game to take the loss. UC will be 0-4 after this one.Last edited by leeraymond; 01-10-2025, 02:00 PM.

Kansas has a very good defense (#4 in the country), but it's conservative. They don't turn you over and they'll let you shoot the three. Their strength, much like Baylor, is in keeping opponents away from the rim. Baylor, Arizona, Kansas, BYU, Texas Tech, and Iowa St are all top 20 nationally at defending the rim. We can't just take what the defense gives us or making jumpshots is the only way we'll score in this conference. We have to get to the rim against good defenses, and that means spreading the floor, off ball screens, and misdirection.
I just want to see some different offensive schemes. Even if we lose by 20 again. We're never going to be an efficient offense unless we modernize.
