I have never understood coaches that refuse to play their players when they are upset with them. Coaches HURT the team when they punish guys by not playing them. That is self-defeating because if the team loses the game, because the coach refused to play somebody, now that is a loss for the coach. A better punishment is to make the player shoot 500 free throws or run the bleacher stairs with a weight jacket on, or something like that. Coaches should NOT use punishments that will hurt the team.

Wow!! That is a disturbing stat. This means that Miller has LOST 83.8% of his Q1 games. Wow!!

some of us older guys on here can remember denny crum's UL teams - played anybody, anywhere, anytime. might've had 8 or 9 losses by the end of the season, but they were monsters in the tournament.
i guess nowadays, that wouldn't work with the all of the "metrics". or would it? it'd be nice to see what the "metrics" would look like, for those old UL teams. just a different approach - definitely rewards SOS.

I think playing a tougher non conference schedule would have helped Wes better determine best rotations, schemes, etc to use against best competition as well. Playing northwest Arkansas state doesn’t do that. You don’t learn anything playing those games except thinking you’re good. X, Dayton and Nova are solid teams, but not enough to prepare for this league. I think the non conference schedule needs to get much more difficult or this is going to be rinse and repeat every year.
UC's non-conf. schedule does nothing to prepare it for the BigXII. Why does UC play those non-competitive teams? Is it due to cost? I hope that's it and UC is not "ducking" valid competition in the pre-conf. to boost its resume. Because it hasn't worked in years to get UC to the NCAA tournament. Even when UC was in the tournament, it always had early exits. Save one final four in 1992, an elite eight appearance once or twice, and a couple of sweet sixteen appearances, UC has really been kind of a dud. Playing stiffer competition in pre-conf. might help. Who knows until you try?

Agree completely with austinbearcat. I'm getting tired of hearing broadcast announcers talk about our "great" 10-1 start to the season.

This is beginning to look like the football season. Good start, some hope and then the season went into the toilet. I'm hoping for a turnaround but it doesn't look good at this point,

Didnt UC score 11 the 2nd half against NKU
a year or two ago ? Same coach ?

"OK, I'll reiterate my twitter post. Something is obviously wrong. Not sure if it's the locker room, coaching disconnect, NIL etc. But something is really, really wrong. I hope there's a players only meeting after this one and they get their heads on straight. No one is playing particularly well right now. The offense is apparently a damn mystery to everyone."

The last time this much dysfunction between players was displayed was during the coup attempt during Brannens last year!

At this rate it is going to be a long year. And I can't stand to hear the boo birds in Fifth Third Arena.
Fredrick was filling in for Connor Hickman, whose injured foot kept him out.
