As red_n_black_attack noted, leading scorer is BJ Freeman. The Milwaukee transfer just scored 26 versus UCF. The aforementioned 5-star freshman center Jayden Quaintance had 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 blocks (and fouled out) versus the Golden Knights.
X-factor is standout freshman Joson Sanon (12.8 ppg, 47.5% from three, potential 2025 NBA draft pick) who played 18 mins versus Baylor but missed the other three games above including versus UCF on Monday (ankle).
ASU has an 8-man rotation right now with Sanon, noting one of the bench guys is Dayton native Shawn Phillips -- a big man UC off and on recruited dating back to high school (committed to NC State, but went to LSU instead before heading to Tempe, AZ last year).
UC's defense is rather elite per Ken Pom #s, while ASU has a good but not great D and a slightly more effective offense -- though last game ASU shot over 52%, hit 12/24 from three (but a UC-like 17/26 from the line). ... Better 3-point and FT shooting team than UC, but averaging about 3 more turnovers a game than UC.
