    Corey doesn't tweet much but one of his old tweets from 2013 is a glowing review of Quadri Moore. Eek!

      @TiptonEdits:

      Oklahoma City Thunder scout Corey Evans has been hired to be Cincinnati’s general manager, sources tell @On3sports. Evans joined OKC in 2020 after being a recruiting analyst at Rivals. He’s one of the most respected and well-connected individuals in the space.

      @MattNorlander:

      Cincinnati has hired Oklahoma City scout Corey Evans to be its general manager, sources told CBS Sports. Evans has been close with UC coach Wes Miller for a long time. A key addition in what will be a crucial season for the Bearcats in 2025-26.

      @PeteThamel:

      Sources: Cincinnati has hired Oklahoma City Thunder scout Corey Evans as the school’s new men’s basketball general manager. He’s worked for the Thunder for nearly five years and was part of the draft process for players like Jalen Williams, Aaron Wiggins and Cason Wallace.

      (Thamel said in a subsequent tweet his role will cover HS, international and transfer portal scouting and recruiting + work with Wes on NIL, roster construction and roster retention)

        Corey Evans Named Men's Basketball's General Manager

        https://gobearcats.com/news/2025/3/3...l-manager.aspx

        "I've known Corey Evans for over 13 years," Miller said. "He is a rising star with a relentless work ethic. He's unique in his base of knowledge as well as his diversity of relationships across all levels of basketball.

        "As our college game continues to transition to a true professional model, I think there is value in adding another staff member with NBA experience as well as a non-coaching background. He will be a vital asset to myself, our staff and our players."

                Why in the world did Corey Evans sign on to this sinking ship?

                  I am not sure if any of the portal entrants are surprises. I think Griffith, Mitchell, Reed were maybes, whereas Page, Betsey and probably Skillings too were pretty much a sure thing.

                  In other words, I am sure Evans knew what he was getting into. He's likely getting more $ than as a lower level staffer with OKC.

                  Also, however the $ works (and include Bandaogo and Lukosius' departures too) there's probably a good amount to work with - so could potentially reel in some decent sized fish.

                  Worst case, Evans is here for 11-12 months and won't have trouble landing on his feet elsewhere.

                    A buffer between Miller and Cunningham.

                        NBA Scouts generally don't make a whole lot of money. I know he may have had another title and/or other duties, but unless you're high up in the front office you're certainly not going to be getting rich. If I had to guess, and this is pure speculation, I'd bet his salary was probably around 100k. 150k max.

                          Corey did a 30-minute interview on the BCJ Podcast last night for those who would like to listen (first 30 minutes of the podcast).

                          Most of the interview was a "get-to-know-you" session with little discussion about the actual roster/program but he did drop a few tidbits about his personal basketball philosophy and how that ties to Wes's vision for the program.

                            Corey Evans was on the Ryen Russillo podcast today

                            Seems random, but good publicity for UC (I have not listened)
