  • NCAA Tournament and Bracket

Here is the preliminary Bracket so that we can compare with the Sunday/Monday final edition. NCAA Bracketology: 2025 March Madness men's field predictions
It has the SEC with 13 teams, the B1G 10 with 9 teams and the Big 12 with 8 teams. Houston in this bracket is a one seed. It also has X as the last four in.

What? No UC? How could they? Well, maybe next year.

It is funny. Three teams that UC beat this season made a regular post-bracket (I do not consider The Crown to be regular), but UC did not (Xavier, Dayton, and Georgia Tech).

Looking at shot selection among tournament teams, the older generation of coaches really stands out. Sampson, Izzo, Pitino, Few, Self, and Bennett's teams all take under 35% of their shots from three, well below average. They refuse to change and I love that. Basketball is more interesting when there are distinct styles. We'll see how it translates to the tournament. It's becoming more difficult every year to win without the three ball.

Some great games in Dayton aside from the UNC blowout.

After allowing 47 points in the first half, XU turned it on in the second half outscoring UT 47-33. Quite a turnaround.

Dayton also got a 1st round win in the NIT over FAU. It is somewhat numbing that UC beat both Xavier and Dayton and they are having better seasons than UC.

Louisville is the first loser - got handled easily by Creighton despite playing in Lexington

Pat Kelsey now 0-5 in NCAA Tournament games

Clemson scored 13 first half points. Like UC against NKU a couple years ago.

Lahkin commits a foul and then talks to the opponent to get a T. Fouls out with 6 points.

Maybe they are or maybe they are playing in lesser leagues. The ACC is down this year and so is the Big East. Clemson is the highest seed to fall so far. Houston has the only real blowout. However, Wisconsin and Auburn easily took care of business.

Vic looked a lot like the guy we knew in that game, except for the ten rebounds.
