Two future Bearcats opponents face each other at MSG at 6:30 (ESPN): Clemson vs BYU. The Tigers are #25 in KenPom; the Cougars are #9.

Norwood Tech-Evanston Campus knocked off a pretty mediocre Old Dominion squad at Cintas, 99-69 in front of an announced crowd of 9,326 (capacity 10,224). The Eggmen shot 16/36 (44.4%) from the arc, almost entirely wide open. Four different players hit for 20 exactly, so the rest of the team totaled 19.

NT-EC will face future UC foes, the GA Bulldogs, in Charleston, tipping off shortly after the UC-UofL game (9:00; ESPN2). I'll be in my car, heading home from the game that matters.

Will reserve full judgment until the end of UC/Dayton but … X got taken to the woodshed at home by a solid Santa Clara squad last night. Lost by 19 after trailing by 30 late.

Norwood Tech-Evanston Campus had trouble shaking off LeMoyne over at Cintas tonight. Late in the game, the visitors had a chance to cut the X lead to 3, but missed 2 FT's, allowing the Eggmen to slip out with a 74-69 win.

I saw a bit of the GA vs MD Eastern Shore game last night. It's difficult to say how strong the Bulldogs are because UMES are truly awful. The Eagles turned it over 31 times, which showed they improved in the second half, after throwing it away 22 times in the first half. I lost track of the lazy cross-court passes they tried to throw, all of which resulted in dunks at the other end.

The Eagles hit only 11 of 55 shots, with 1 of 18 behind the arc and 6 for 13 from the line. Needless to say, UMES scored very little. Final: GA 94-29. The Bulldogs should've scored more. They missed their first 17 treys and finished 8 for 40 (a crisp 20%).

Pretty pathetic crowd in Athens to watch an equally pitiful game.

In case anyone is wondering, Xavier is 7th in the preseason Big East poll out of 11 teams

It might just be that it was a home game for xavier and they may hold the broadcasting rights. Whereas the UC game was in Ann Arbor and the B1G 10 may own the broadcast rights.

That's most likely the reason. With the Bengals having played late into Thursday night, the basketball exhibition in Ann Arbor on Friday evening at 6:00, and the football team in Stillwater Saturday evening, the travel schedule may have been too difficult to arrange for Dan Hoard. By contrast, Norwood Tech-Evanston Campus played at home—having beaten Toledo in football at their home stadium, Cochran Field (now Corcoran), 35-31—in 1973.

Not that these games matter but xavier lost to Murry State at home 75-70. Murray State holds off Xavier 75-70 in first exhibition game | Sports | WPSD Local 6
