Utah bounced back from the blown game at UC to beat WVU last night in Morgantown

There is a clear top 5 in the league, though 5th place Texas Tech is now without their star player.

But behind TT is a 3-way tie at 7-6 (WVU, BYU who just lost a key player, and UCF) followed by 6-7 TCU and UC.

So UC is currently one game out of 6th place ...though the next two games are at Kansas and TT.

Jon Rothstein, it seems, has UC 12th in the Big 12, much the chagrin of the fan base.

Regardless of what fans might think Rothstein feels towards UC... ultimately, has he been wrong? He's not been particularly high on UC since Mick left and, well, there has not been a ton to show/to prove him wrong.

Calhoun is aware too, so if it helps develop a chip on his shoulder as well, all for the best. Obviously these are just projections and some teams will fair better and others worse.

I don’t think Rothstein has anything against UC, he’s just looking objectively at what he sees, where we always see the best case (though many here were rooting for CWM to fail). I hope as always we beat expectations, but looking at the rest of the league after the offseason it will be tough.
