I',ll tell ya fellas this is hard to watch. With all of this so called talent that Miller has acquired we should be blowing these NJIT out. Where's the running style that they used against Louisville? Millers team plays to the rhythym of the opponents. I'm getting weary of watching UC walk the ball up the court and shooting the first chance someone gets. That is not basketball. It's an extended game of horse.

Starting to pull away. Hopefully this will be a confidence builder.

Harris at the line! We're last in the Big 12 in FT at 63%.

That's been a problem the last few years under Wes.

Good Win against a lesser team. Good to see the bench get some playing time.

This was a feel-good game. Hooray, UC won the game. It was good to see what the bench guys can do. This game provides more evidence that Harris should be in the starting lineup, Jordi Rodriguez should be getting more minutes, Celestine should never start, and Kriisa should be coming off the bench. This game also showed that Miller does not really know how to prep his teams to get ready for bigger games. Allowing players to just shoot any kind of shot and to not play defense against an inferior opponent does not teach guys how to play basketball. It teaches teams how to lose. No disrespect to NJIT, but good teams do not let NJIT shoot 53% from three in the second half. Good teams do not let a team like NJIT shoot 41% in the second half. NJIT only scores 66 points a game on the season. UC allowed NJIT to score 67 points in its home gym. That is the kind of thing that would make Cronin's blood boil. However, Miller only saw the win. He did not see the weaknesses that UC displayed during the game.

I wish that Abaev would come to play against a real opponent. He was 4-16 in the UL game. Tillery plays scared in big games. I am still trying to figure out how Celestine helps the team. Other than making an occasional shot, what is Kriisa's real value? UC is paying these guys? Think about for a minute. These guys are getting paid to play. Does that also mean that UC can end their employment as well?

Did I also mention that NJIT outrebounded UC? Think about that for a second. NJIT also had more second chance points and had one more offensive rebound than UC. That is very disturbing.

I am being very critical here. There is a reason why. I had a chance to watch Xavier, Georgia, and Clemson last weekend. As it now stands, UC cannot beat either of these teams right now. Instead of getting the team ready to play the more challenging part of the season, Miller is allowing the team to play sloppy, careless, and reckless basketball. Miller just does not demand enough from his teams. Getting the team to play defense with its arms and hands up would be a start.

The coach for Xavier, Pitino, has already established an identity for the team. Xavier is the best three-point shooting team I have seen all season. It is not even close. Even their bigs can step outside and shoot the three. X went 16-25 from three against West Virginia. X hits 10 threes a game. On the season, X is shooting 39% as a team from three. How is UC going to stop that? That is why it should be using these cupcake games to get ready for bigger games. Both Clemson and Georgia are able to score. They played a game last weekend that scored in the 90s (overtime). That is a lot of scoring. Louisville is not a defensive team and held UC to 64 points. You see where I am going with this?

Louisville held Eastern Michigan to 46 points and 28% shooting last night. UL held Eastern to shooting 13% from three. UC plays Eastern on Wednesday. Let's see what UC does.

After the NJIT game, I see a UC team that may be in trouble. On the other hand, let's stay positive.
