I saw a stat during the game that can’t be accurate. It said something along the lines of CWM teams at Cincinnati are 3-50 when trailing in the final 5 minutes of a game. Coaching is important and even more so in the last 5 minutes of a game, it’s completely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the quality of our coach in the games most crucial moments. I have hopes that DayDay can continue his improvement this year and become the player Justin Jennifer was his senior year. His shooting is better, he plays good defense he just needs to take better care of the ball and it’s clear to me he’s one of the few players we can rely on and is a leader that needs to help mold these young players.

Yeah man, I saw that too. Yeah!. Great point. Good observation. Think about that for a second. Miller's UC teams are 3-51 (including last night's game), when losing at the final 5-minute mark. That is an amazing stat. The man does not know how to win games. That stat somewhat confirms it.

Check this out. Miller's UC record is 87-61. So, what that indicates is that of those losses, Miller was losing at the 5-minute mark in 83.6% of those games. Games that he could not pull out. Using probability analysis suggests that it is a 5.5% chance that Miller will win a game when he is losing at the 5-minute mark. If we look at that from the opposite side, it indicates that when Miller is losing at the 5-minute mark, there is a 94.5% chance that he will lose that game. This is something new that we now know about Coach Miller.

Good post Black and Red Attack.

That statistic is alarming for sure but we need to know how it compares to other coaches and programs. I'll bet most coaches lose more than 50% of the time when they are losing at 5 minutes. If anyone can dig up that statistic for other coaches we could all learn something. (Note that I am not volunteering!)

A quick AI search showed that in the NBA the team ahead at the beginning of the 4th quarter wins 80% of the time. If you extrapolate that to the 5 minute mark it doesn't seem outrageous. Not that I am defending Wes Miller. He and Satterville both need to go.
