    I'll do it....
Going to the game. Could be Miller's last. It is a game UC should win. But if X plays zone and UC can't shoot them out of it I think they lose.

Gotta defend the 3 ball !
Haven’t shown much of an inside game yet but a couple of guards can penetrate.

It has for a lot of people; there's no history between the coaches nor the players. Now, it's just another game on another day with mostly a new roster every year.
Most of these players have probably never heard of the rivalry before getting to Cincy.
Any rivalry left is just the fans holding on to it.

I believe this to be very very accurate. Sad.

Brian Anderson, analyst Robbie Hummel and reporter Lauren Jbara on the call

Game has been relegated to lower ESPN channels and even ESPN+ last year, if I recall correctly (for UC home games) and some lesser Fox broadcasts for the games at XU. This could be a nice touch this year on TNT. Strong crew.

For years there has been that running (painful) joke about a random Xavier player coming out of nowhere to make an impact in the Shootout

I submit, for UC, Connor Hickman's 9 points last year in 20 mins off the bench including two threes.

Also, this is the first Shootout since maybe the Clinton administration without Zach Freemantle on the X squad.

Coaching changes, NIL, player free agency, conference realignment have all destroyed historical rivalries across the country.

It has for me. I actually dislike this game in general because bad blood, bad fans being bad, stupid pranks etc.

I have a different take than most of you because I'm not local anymore. If we lose I'll frown and not be terribly surprised and then I'll move on the next day. Honestly at this point, We have a monster conference schedule and this game is a good warm up for a tournament style atmosphere. Outside of that it's a bit of a root canal to watch.

Day Day Thomas is literally the only person on either team to have played in this game before. He knows. McKinley knows. Wes knows. Unless I"m overlooking someone, this might be the least intense game in years.

Those teams are all founding members of their conferences. They have all enjoyed sustained coaching. They are all in conferences that have been receiving large amounts of big TV cash. Remember, UNC was looking into jumping conferences a couple of years ago. If that had happened, how long would it be that the Duke game be all that important?

If you live in NC you would know. It isn't about the conference.

I agree with a lot of the sentiments shared....but I see Kerr creating some chippyness, especially if he plays well...and I
just can't see this game not being played with extreme intensity...regardless of the players experience, they've been educated on it...
Either way, ill be sparing my wife and screaming obscenities at my brother's house.
