Hey, I agree with you. This is a game where UC should be very careful. Lipscomb can really score. It scores about 83 points a game. It also has big men that step outside and shoot the three. Likewise, it hits for 11 threes a game. If UC gets lazy on defense, it might find itself fighting from behind for most of the game.Originally posted by London 'Cat View PostLipscomb is ranked above UC in the NET. They trailed at Duke by 3 at halftime, with Duke pulling away in the second half. One common opponent this year, Western Carolina. Both teams beat WCU by a substantial margin. I feel like this will be closer than we think and not another pay game.
My biggest question is: what starting five will Miller have on the floor? The five bearcats that started the second half of the Clemson game led to outscoring Clemson in the second half 47-30. I wonder if Miller will use the same starting five that started the second half of the Clemson game.

This will tell us something about CWM coaching and his ability to stand for his team and coaching it his way. If he starts the BEST 5 and not the highest paid 5 he will have ceased listening to his donors and cowing to them. Since his job is likely on the line, I would hope he would start the same group from the 2nd half of Clemson.Originally posted by leeraymond372@gmail.com View PostMy biggest question is: what starting five will Miller have on the floor? The NET serves the NCAA selection committee as an entry point for discussions, but they delve deeper as they talk about the teams. Here are the rankings of three rating services, who use different mathematical models to compare teams:Originally posted by London 'Cat View PostLipscomb is ranked above UC in the NET. Ken Pomeroy: UC #72 (#225 offensive efficiency, #10 defensive efficiency); Lipscomb #137 (#169, #113)
Bart Torvik: UC #86 (#269, #8); Lipscomb #153 (#194, #117)
Evan Miyakawa: UC #50 (#137, #12); Lipscomb #149 (#197, #116)
The Bearcats are about 12-point home favorites, per KenPom. Lipscomb is an above-average team (#183 is the median), making them a dangerous mid-major squad. The Bisons showed that they can hang with good teams. The Cats need to put in a full 40 minutes of focus and energy, then carry it into Friday night's difficult matchup with Houston.

No math stats can compete with what Nolan Richardson had his squad give "40 minutes of ****". So many stats can change when the game is played like that. I know a guy in the Seton Hall HOF. He taught when guarding another especially a prima donna, stick to him skin tight and say constantly Ball ball ball in his ear. I have seen many technicals called due to the loss of composure of the hot shots. I have seen many crazy shots taken too in still trying to be the hero. I think every ball player needs to play a game or two at the Jersey shore league. You get the best from jersey and NYC and it can be brutal.Originally posted by swilsonsp4 View Post

Lipscomb plays fast, the 41st highest pace in the country. They cause turnovers and shoot a lot of threes (#53 in each). But they are terrible on the glass and get to the line even less than we do. They are well balanced on offense, with no usage rate over 24. They don't shoot much from midrange, but aren't great converting at the rim (under 59%). 6'10" senior Grant Asman is the best player with a 6.3 BPM. He's very efficient, making 79% at the rim, 41% from three, and 81% at the line. With that in mind, the keys to the game are 1)Nolan Richardson, 2)Seton Hall, 3) Ball Ball Ball, and 4) Jersey Shore League.

so much better than sitting in a room looking at figures and not really playing the game. For me, I can't anymore. Actually it is a call to give everything you have to your team for victory and not your stat line. Variables which can't be measured except in effort and victory.Originally posted by sedz View PostLipscomb plays fast, the 41st highest pace in the country.
