Take care of business versus Utah on Sunday (which would put them at 6-7 in the Big 12) and the conversation is going to shift to: A) So you're saying there is a chance... ; B) Man, if only they had not lost to EMU + had taken care of business in 1 or 2 of those blown games vs WVU and at UCF
We need to go 5-1 down the stretch to get on the bubble going into Kansas City. Anything less will make our resume irrelevant.

does anyone really see 5 - 1, with the games left? they might win one in the B12 tourny, but no more than that.

Yes, the opposition the last two games has not been great. But to my optimistic eyes the team has looked as though something is finally clicking. Enough to go 5-1 and win some games in the conference tournament? That’s a wait and see.

It was encouraging to see the Bearcats not let up against UCF and close out the game as they did. When UCF cut the lead to 6, how many of us thought “uh-oh, here we go again?” But this time the Bearcats stayed calm, played smart, and pulled away. A confidence builder.

Kansas St is a mess. But the line before the game was only UC -2.5. Bearcats came out and never allowed KSU to think they had a chance.

Something has changed with these Bearcats. Enough to pull out a miracle? Doubtful. Hopefully everyone gets healthy, especially by the Kansas game. They might be okay as is for Utah. I’m just happy to see this group hasn’t quit (see: KSU).

Also too, the 0-4 non-conference record against the high-majors will hurt UC's chances.

Good post. I got the same feeling. Over the two games with UCF and K-State, UC has had five (5) guys scoring in double figures. I know that both UCF and K-State are somewhat bad defensive teams. However, to me, the vibe has felt different since the WV loss.

We will see in the next few games if this vibe is real.

                2/25 Updates post Texas Tech:

                -NET #51 (Q1: 2-10, Q2: 5-2, Q3: 1-0, Q4: 7-1)
                -Wins Above Bubble #64
                -Ken Pom #47
                -Bart Torvik #37

Bart Torvik projects us to be the 3rd-to-last team in the tournament should we win our next three games (Oklahoma St, BYU, and @TCU).

Our poor WAB ranking may still hurt us considerably with the committee.

Still doable. The target for a while has been 11-7 to feel good, 10-8 to be in the conversation.
