I believe NIL deals like this one are great for the kids because they are not necessarily tied to a school or pay-4-play. This is true value for young Mr Mercer and well worth it.

We have seen the negative effect of large amounts of money have on college students; I hope that this does not destroy the high school game. Since he is a minor, his dad will be controlling the money but who knows how that will go. We have seen the danger of that with young pop singers.

I like that young Mr. Mercer makes sure everyone knows that he is from Cincinnati.

Did it ever? Before there was rampant cheating, but the “blue bloods” always got away with it. Now that lawyers and politicians are involved, any semblance of control is gone. It seems Sorsby got flat out busted, but don’t be surprised if he gets away with it too. The NCAA can settle his case, or go to court and risk all gambling prohibitions being ruled illegal. It’s a goddamn mess now, I’m not sure I care about college sports anymore.

The NCAA had no choice but to agree to the House settlement. They were going to lose in court & tried to make the best of a bad situation. They should've released the pressure decades ago by allowing true NIL or some other form of compensation. But they held onto their amateurism position, and the lawsuits eventually started rolling in.

This isn't done yet. They're still losing.
