  • Boise to stay in MW?

CBS Sports reports that Boise may stay in the Mountain West after all. The logic is that the Mountain West will likely have a better TV deal than the BE any time soon, so why leave. Plus, the Boise coach favors the MW.

Of course he does, he can keep winning against weak competition and making himself look like a genius. Boise's secret to success = play one tough game per year, and beat up the MWC... and appear to be a great team. (to be honest, UC has been doing a similar thing the past few years, but I don't consider the level of the Big East to be down as low as MWC, as much as some have argued that it was...)

Well, for Boise, the premier teams that they would have each year would be UConn and UC and both of those schools are doing everything that they can to bail on the BEast. Why would Boise want to join?

        Who could blame them?

It never made any sense for UC to be in a league with them in the first place. UC will have to settle for some reconfigured CUSA and hope that when the dust settles they are in something better.

Well. It's time for UC to get this program upscaled by stadium upgrade, improving fans show-up, etc. so that ACC or Big 12 would look and invite UC into the better conference. Big East is now totally damaged.

              Why not try big east

With the big east having the auto bid for another year why wouldn't boise come at least for a year if they feel they have a shot to win the league....if they decide they'd rather be in the mwc after next year then go back. I mean...is the MWC gonna tell them no, sorry, we don't want a better team than anyone else in our league? They literally have nothing to lose

It's pretty simple: entrance and exit fees.

If the contract has already been signed, the exit fee already exists.

And I can't imagine the BE announcing next year's schedule without a contract in place.

Remaining Big East teams need to scramble again to fill schedule void caused by Boise State not joining. Big East leadership if you can call it that fails again.

What looked like a killer hire in Aresco, is turning into a bomb. Granted that Marinatto left him with stinking pile but jeez.

It seems like they should have to pay damages of some sort (beyond the exit fee that they agreed to) just for the scheduling hassle this is going to cost us Big East leftovers...

No need to scramble the schedule because SMU, SDSU, Houston, Temple, and Memphis just lost a game. All they have to do is add one of the four our schedule at home.
