In the last few hours it has been reported by Pete Thamel that the Sun Belt has approached Marshall, Southern Miss, ODU, and James Madison. With Southern Miss pretty much a done deal. Now Nashville Post is reporting the MAC has approached WKU and MTSU. Around 8pm I thought CUSA would survive, but if everyone moves only Florida International, UTEP, and La Tech will remain.

NCAA Football Conference Realignment: Most Likely Scenarios for Sun Belt & C-USA (actionnetwork.com)
“I hate to say it,” a Group of Five official said, “but if you’re not in a Power Five conference, you’re just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.”
Non-football playing Sun Belt members Arkansas-Little Rock and Texas-Arlington also will no longer be league members, sources said. - if a conference can kick out teams, does that mean the next realignment, the Power 5 will cut the bottom dwellers?

"Think @collegead had this first, but I expect the Sun Belt to add Southern Miss, Marshall, JMU and ODU as early as early next week"

I think the AAC went heavy in Texas to keep the Mountain West out of it. Rumors were MW was negotiating with North Texas and Rice, but AAC took the two as well with UTSA.Originally posted by Illuminerdski View PostAs one who is an enthusiast Conference Commissioner, not a professional one. I think the AAC picked up a few too many Texas schools, and with that missed picking up Southern Miss and Marshall. Good pick up by the Sun Belt. IMO.
