This is a great question and topic for discussion. Money talks..but not everyone can afford a Lane Kiffin $40M budget for football.

Is the NIL bubble going to burst or will the money just keep flowing in?

So many questions. So many schools facing financial problems (enrollments down) because of the demographic cliff, namely, the population of college aged prospective students is decreasing and young people are starting to listen to Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) and enter the trades.

BTW How the heck did the Florida State University athletic department run up such an astronomical deficit (north of $430 M)?

The wildcard is if Congress passes a bill to bring sanity to this whole NIL mess and puts student back in student-athlete and age-related eligibility limits.

Per Thamel, James Madison is paying the American a 23M entrance fee and the Sun Belt another 5M for exiting.

I'm personally of the opinion the bubble will burst. I don't think this is sustainable between facilities, player salaries and coaching salaries.

I 'm not an expert on MLB these days but watch the upcoming lockout. If MLB owners can force a salary cap, so can college sports. However for that to happen, college athletes are going to have get some themselves a union sor some form of labor representation they can negotiate that stuff.

To be honest this part of the topic probably belongs in the NIL thread but it ties in at least a bit.

Well, Miami U is begging the ACC to take them. I doubt if that will ever happen. However, I do NOT believe that there will be any major shake up until the Power 4 TV contracts expire. Then whatever ESPN and FOX dictates will happen.
