  • National Letter of Intent going away

The NLI is all but dead. The D1 Council has recommended that the NLI be replaced something resembling a an actual contract since revenue sharing is on the way in. It's being called the NCAA signing and recruiting rules contract for now. It's not official until the full NCAA body votes later today. It's expected to adopt the change.

      That’s a really good question.

This proposal was just approved by the full NCAA.

If the players are going to get paid during the signing period, why doesn't the NCAA just go to a draft mode and allow all teams to draft the next best available player? <sarcasm>
