[Lobot]

Here's the first of the ranking attempts . This one's ($) from Stew Mandel at the Athletic. We come in 8th here.

On the road, but currently the higher ranked team for both games in the Hoosier State

The Athletic is in negotiations to be purchased by The New York Times. I think the paywall sticks, it costs extra to get the Crosswords and/or the Cooking supplement.

According to Bloomberg and the WSJ, those talks "didn't get very far." The Athletic is in some trouble and they need a merget badly.

They called off a merger with Axios earlier this week. I'm betting a venture capital group will grab them.

3 days ago the WSJ had this headline: The Athletic Halts Merger Talks With Axios, Eyes New York Times

I could not find any reference to these talks ending.

Not sure if this belongs in football or basketball. Despite football disappointments, Ohio State’s worst heart breaker came on the hardwood - Land-Grant Holy Land (landgrantholyland.com) I knew Paul but ony as an architect. He never talked about basketball and seemed reluctant to do so. I also ran with Robert Miller who never talked about basketball either.

In at #10 in Sporting News "way-too-early." https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nca...-25/ar-AAKktm5

The rankings are a bit all over the place for UC and our top two opponents. Barring losses by any of the three, our games against IU and ND should both be Top 15 matchups with possible Top 10 matchups. It has been a while since we had two top 10 matchups and not sure if we have ever had multiple non-conference Top 10-15 matchups. With basketball getting settled, I am getting super stoked for football season!

Here is a summary thus far:

Team The Athletic Athlon CBSSports ESPN Yard Barker SI Pro Football Network Sporting News

UC 8 8 10 11 8 6 7 10

Noter Shame 13 12 11 15 6 10 9 6

Indiana 16 21 21 10 18 12 11 15
