This is a free article from that quotes CLF frequently.

    Thanks for posting this.

I found this segment most interesting:
"While Fickell and his staff have had many big recruiting wins over their time on campus including signing the 247Sports Composite’s No. 1 Group of Five recruiting class nationally the last two cycles and tracking for a third, Ridder was one they inherited upon landing the gig back in Dec. 2016.

“We didn’t know a whole lot,” Fickell said. “We did take a peek to see if we wanted to keep him and good thing we weren’t arrogant enough to think we had somebody better and we didn’t shy away from taking him even though we didn’t know him because that’s a critical and unique position. Had it been the years where there was a transfer portal I can almost probably guarantee you we would’ve thought you could’ve got someone better in the transfer portal than sticking with a kid you didn’t really know. I guess the best case scenario, there wasn’t some type of transfer portal where you really believed you could find something better, you were going to go with your high school kids and develop them.”"

I know we have to either love or hate our former coaches, but try to give the staff before HC LF's at least some credit for recruiting Desmond.
