I was thinking the same thing. It would be interesting if we got matched up with a Big 12 team.

Well Bearcat Chris got his wish. The Cats are out of contention for a NY6 bowl unless South Florida finds themselves a football team tonight. Now our beloved University football team will find its way to Shreveport, Birmingham, Frisco, or maybe Albuquerque. The only benefit is that Prater will get 15 more practices with the 1s. I hope we play a 6-6 ACC or SEC team so some can feel good about themselves winning a bowl game in the middle of nowhere at 2pm on a weekday.

James Madison just knocked Coastal out of any shot at the G5 NY6 slot. It's 47-7 JMU in the 4th quarter.

The Liberty Bowl was a lot of fun, but I would much rather be in the Cotton Bowl.

The Liberty Bowl, 2011 was GREAT! We will beat the snot out of Kansas, which will be fun. I will be there!

Three votes for the Cotton Bowl. Not bad. Sure wish the American had better bowl games.

Miami was pretty relevant with both Dennis Erickson and Larry Coker - both of whom followed Jimmy Johnson.

Well, FSU really hasn't been nationally relevant since Bobby Bowden (late 80's and 90's). Maybe a little bit under Jimbo Fisher. Most of FSU's fame came when they were a football independent (all other sports with UC in the Metro). Same can really be said about Virginia Tech since they were football independent (Metro in all other sports) and with coach Frank Beamer. Miami really has not been relevant since Jimmy Johnson (they were Big East then).

However, beating a name like FSU would be nice. We have to clean up a lot for us to keep winning.

Beating FSU would be nice. Seems like we got a few beat downs from them in football when we were in the Metro together for basketball in the 80s.

For those who have been around for a while, exacting some football revenge on FSU would be nice.

I’m obviously rooting for the Cotton Bowl or even the Frisco Bowl or Armed Forces Bowl so I can drive across town

The Athletic has UC vs. Coastal Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl... with all due respect to Coastal... I'd rather play in one of the Dec. 17 games in a better location versus a better brand name (not that I'd be traveling, so what's it to me?)
