Welcome to the AP Top 25 Preseason poll.

We're not in it. However, there are several other Big XII teams in the poll. The first thing you'll notice is that the annual over-ranking of Texas has occurred yet again this season. Maybe they can live up to it this year but I doubt it.

You are right, they are unsure how to evaluate UC. Nearly a whole new coaching staff, new offensive unit, new offensive and defensive sets, and large player turnover. All that they can go by is the coach's recent success and the QB's history.

I guess the FPI is not really a poll but we moved up 19 spots to #30 in the FPI after Saturday. If it weren't for Colorado and Texas St, we would have been the biggest upward mover.

Too early for it to make sense. We played an FCS, so be it. UCF got 1 vote. Houston got 1 vote. I'm not sure what that was for. Texas Tech lost and got a vote ???

The Cats received 8 votes in the “coaches’” poll, AKA “SID poll”. That’s good enough for #41.
