UC has no receivers worthy of a D1 scholarship. They cannot separate from the defenders to save their lives.

Henderson was open several times. Sorsby just doesn’t work through reads well. He has made things happen on broken plays this year, but generally speaking struggles to work through the receivers on routes

CBK is likely to be "on the market" in a few weeks. I still have problems with how he left us for ND 15 years ago, but just like Schivanno (spell) went back to Rutgers and has done well, we ought to bring back BK, as he knows how to recruit this area, and can coach. Admit it, the Big 12 is having an off year; no outstanding teams. UC better do something, or we will be back into the wilderness of losing college football programs.

Is he hurt? He's been throwing it all season. I don't think we threw it downfield more than 20 yards last night? He did some real damage on the ground to make up for it but this team cannot play from behind if he can't throw it. We're out there rushing and running clock in the 3rd and 4th quarter and this is not the first game that's happened.

I finally had a chance early this morning to watch the game without disturbance. Very disappointing. CSS and his OC are good X&Os, but once on the field the team is poorly coach and lacking fundamentals. The QB can't throw the ball and doesn't need to be in the game. Yes, he can run, but he missed at least 4 wide open players with short passes of which two seemed to be easy touchdowns. The OL makes too many mistakes as does the Defensive backfield. This team flirts with wins, but they choke. There needs a new mind set and toughness as ISU bullied them and outsmarted them. The announcers made it clear CSS loves it in Cincy, but his mediocrity at best doesn't deserve his comfy job.

brando and company made it sound like the staff has told sorsby to try to avoid "bad" throws, and just tuck it, if he doesn't see a clear throwing lane - sorsby's regressed this year - i think he's just gun shy at this point

time heals a lot of wounds, but i'd still be leery of BK - he's just too ambitious for UC - i think he'd keep looking for the next "great" opportunity

I disagree. He and Kiner are our entire offense. He's not to blame for the undisciplined penalties.

You're right about Kiner! Sorsby is not to blame for the undisciplined penalties! He's to blame for the careless undisciplined costly turnovers he comimits weekly.

I though the defense played reasonably. This game was lost by special teams, costly penalties and inconsistent offense (which includes the Sorsby fumble). I agree that he is somewhat gun-shy on passing after doing rather well the first part of the season. A good quarterback coach will settle him down and allow him to do what he does best. He is still far and away much better than what we had last year. I disagree about the quality of the game calling. Their defense put us in bad positions several times by blowing up those sweeps and deep screens. Coaches should have recognized that fact and done something different. With Kiner and Pryor doing so well, faking to them and taking shots both short and downfield should have given us a better passing attack.

That turf needs to be fired into the sun. I think I tweeted at them last night that they're going to get their own players hurt with that garbage. I saw someone mention that's one of 2 or 3 fields in the country with that mix of grass. I'm not going to blame the field for the loss. They had guys slipping all over the place too.

Fletcher had to make another tackle last night according to the box score. That's a special teams failure. Speaking of which, does anyone know the rules for kickers on a bad snap? Fletcher got hit on that bad snap recovery punt. I'm guessing he's not protected after the ball hits the ground but I don't know the actual rule.

I have to think something's wrong with Sorsby still or he overreacted to criticism on not turning the ball over in the passing game. Even though he fumbled once, it was an improvement over the last go around.

I thought the original game plan was good because we were killing them on the ground but at some point when you're behind, you have to throw it to preserve time and we never did. Head scratch-er from the staff again.

On a bad snap, the rules for roughing the kicker are null and void if he leaves his punting position. Also when he leaves his normal punting position..... a jump or a sideways move, and he is fair game to be tackled.

There is something there when the QB tries to pass. I don't know if it is physical or mental. He just looks hampered back there and can't hit easy targets.
