In his postgame comments with Tony Pike, CSS (in addition to other issues) said they have to rethink special teams. I wouldn't think that would bode well for Kerry Coombs.

There is one thing that is for sure, there are elements within the UC fan community that want Satterfield gone. With his two-year record, that is understandable. However, maybe getting rid of the defensive coordinator, the special teams coach, hire another QB coach, and turn over the offensive play calling duties to someone else may save Satterfield. The war drums are now beating big time and Satterfield is probably on the hot seat. My guess is Satterfield will be GIVEN one more year to prove that he can be successful at this level. Some changes, most definitely, are NEEDED and needed all over the place. If coach Satterfield comes back next year and continues to use that ineffective 3-3 defensive system, and also continues to call plays on offense, what should we all think?

If you want to see the GoBearcats.com spin on this: Football Falls in Finale to TCU, 20-13 - University of Cincinnati Athletics
If you eliminate all of the bonehead mistakes (same as the other loses), the stats are in favor of the Bearcats.

From what is known about Satterfield and his two-year record at UC, can he get beyond 3 wins in the conference? Remember, UC won only one conference game last year. So far after two years, Satterfield is 4-14 in the conference.

Glad the season is over. I think the defense played well enough for a win. But the offense just couldn't get out of its way. Badly thrown or inaccurate passes by Sorsby, dropped passes by multiple receivers (all of a sudden Royer develops bad case of the drops), continued bad play calling and a punter that can no longer boom punts to keep us out of trouble. Sorsby had the one good drive that he kept alive with his legs but if the rest of the offense was working, it wouldn't have been necessary. Best part of the offense continues to be the hard running of Kiner. Better play calling would help him as well. If we must keep Satterfield, a good QB coach and offensive coordinator would be at the top of my Christmas list. Oh forgot one. Let Coombs retire and bring in someone who can teach our cornerbacks how to find the ball.

I mentioned during the game on Twitter during the game last night that DeAngelo Smith is a CBs coach right down the road at Ohio U. Go get him.
Just to clear up any misconceptions on what Leo said, Mickens is the DBs coach and DEFENSIVE pass game coordinator at ND. I don't think you could pry him loose from ND with a DC job here. He's getting paid a boatload up there which is partially why he left in the first place.
Play calling: Satterfield needs to give it up to the OC. Yes, we have an OC, his name is Brad Glenn.
Special teams has been atrocious most of the season.
Mostly it's been coverage team issues but as the season went on I noticed a lots of our missed FGs were things like bad snaps or bad holds, laces in etc., and timing issues with the kicker due to what I just mentioned. This strikes me as they aren't spending enough time on this in practice to get the timing down. Maybe that's on Satterfield and maybe it's on Kerry Coombs but something needs to be done there like Tony Pike said.Brent Wyrick

The loss last night was not on the defense, which contained one of the best offenses in the B12. They were put into untenable situations early in the game because of turnovers, especially the inexplicable muffed punt return right at the start of the game. In the second half, TCU couldn't do much at all. The D stood them up and shut the Frogs out.
Special teams made, by Dan Hoard's count, nine critical mistakes, from the muffed punt, to at least two other punts that should've been fielded on the fly, to kick OB, etc. On TCU's last punt, only nine Bearcats were ready to play, with two trying to run on the field at the snap. If those were cleaned up, the Bearcats would've won. The offense put up 374 yards to TCU's 336. However, that was ruined by the 3:1 turnover ratio.
