The Derrick Canteens (Va Tech) and going to be fewer and far between than the Jake Goldays (Central Arkansas), Royer and Pryor type players will still look at schools like Cincy since we offer playing time and P4 conference. Let's give the process a little more time before we say nothing to be excited about. The first player hasn't even committed yet, and so few visits have happened. Let the process play out.

That's fair. Golday was a great find, btw. Here's where I'm at, though - we have such a limited window to try and right this ship. Putting my feelings about Scott's abilities aside, we have got to have a significant injection of talent asap. I heard him say that due to the amount of HS recruits we just inked, he didn't feel that as much activity would take place via the portal. That's a huge concern. Unless some freshman studs are sitting in those HS signings that can/will contribute right away (rare and a bit unfair to ask of any HS recruit), next fall will be more of the same. Honestly, how can it not be, nothing will have changed. If we lose Royer, and to a similar extent Pryor, the odds are pretty stacked against a winning season.

A starter at Ball State is, IMHO, a walk on at O$U. Show me some P5 transfers, and I will get excited, otherwise I predict another 4-8 type season.

Pace was the MAC defensive player of the year, and Beavers came to UC from UConn, who was quite respectable at the time. Let’s hope these guys from the smaller conferences and schools do turn into good players for us, but I really would like to see more coming from top 25 teams.

Tyo is considered the top o-lineman in the MAC. Just as Pace was best at his position in the MAC.

In an earlier post you said a starter at Ball St is a backup/walkon at Ohio State, yet you want backups from top 25 teams. Are they not the same thing? Starters at top 25 teams rarely leave, so we aren't getting many of those type players unless there is a coaching change, huge personal/behavior issue, or the guy got jobbed on NIL.
