It's almost disgusting on little or if at all that Satterfield recruits this area....yeah he will touch the top players but the free scouting of this area that he could have a foothold on if he tried.... our 0-3 stars in the area make to be good players at the D1 levels.....look at the successful coaches over the years here....they hit this area to fill needs and roles....some become stars....NFL players even.... this team means more to these kids in the area than an average player out of an another state beyond the tristate.....

You want to win and be successful at UC you need to attack the 100 mile radius around UC on recruiting.....

I don't disagree with you and I've said so in other threads. It does need to change at some point. I just don't think this staff has the local connections in the 275 area that it takes to do that yet. It's not a shot at the staff but you like to see them do better in that regard

Replace Kerry with a prominent Cincinnati area HS HC. We can pay more than even Moeller, St X or Lakota West. Be intentional

I do not disagree with you. The most successful coaches at Cincinnati have always recruited the region well. In recent years the two worst Win Loss tenures have been Tommy Tuberville and Scott Satterfield. Tuberville seemed to not even try, and destroyed a lot of relationships with local schools, where Satterfield states he is trying, but to little success. With Satterfield having his connections in the Carolinas and Georgia he seems to get a lot of players there, but he does need to be working on developing his relationships with local coaches, and getting Cincinnati area players to play for Cincinnati.
Recruiting has changed a lot. I do not know the answer, but with the transfer portal the way it is, and NIL why waste resources on a High School kid who will leave after a year due to not playing and putting in their time? Most high school players need a year or two in the program before they have a college football body and mindset. A lot of them need to put on 20lbs in the weight room. Why invest money and time in a kid who will just transfer?

Not attracting local talent is totally on Satterfield. One of the first things Fickle did when he took the UC head coaching position was to touch base with area head coaches. Many stated it was the first contact they had from UC since before Tuberville was hired. If he was to harvest the local talent Satterfield needs to make some effort which does not appear to be happening.

Maybe I’m wrong, but wasn’t Kerry Coombs the only staff member with local ties?

You are not wrong but it has been fifteen years since Coombs coached high school football in Cincinnati. The turnover in local coaches has changed the landscape in that time. When Coombs was recruiting for Fickle many of the players he landed came from Indiana and lower Michigan if I correctly remember. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

You're not wrong here but I think they're making more of an effort than what is showing up on signing day. We had at least 3 locals committed and they jumped for B1G NIL. That's not really Satt's fault. Financially I feel like we're not there yet and probably won't be until UC gets a full share of the Big XII revenue and the NIL gets dragged in house.
