  • UC Football NIL Questions

How much will UC spend on FB NIL in 2025, and who are the top receivers of the $$. I was under the impression that "The Godfather" was the highest receiver of cash in 2024, at $180,000.

    Any info wold be appreciated.

Is there somewhere that lists what players received in NIL $$$$$?

More NIL craziness.....Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers reportedly has a massive offer for him to stay in the collegiate ranks and enter the transfer portal instead of turning pro.

Ewers has a $6 million offer to do just that, On3 Sports reported Tuesday, citing sources. The report of the offer comes a few days before Texas is set to take on Arizona State in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.

So why do we continue to call it "amateur"? Does he even have to sit in a class?

Yesterday, I had a chat with a D-1 assistant FB coach, and he gave me some insight into how NIL really works.

          1. Players are paid per semester.
          2. A quality player (starter) at a MAC sized school will get about $30K-50K per year.
          3. A quality player at a D-1AA school, such as Western Carolina or Youngstown State, will get about $3,000 per month (for two semesters)
          4. D-2 players get nothing, but do get extra help with tuition.... more than they used to get.
          5. It's like an "arms race"... will continue to increase as more school try to get the best players.
          6. Most players do have guidance with financial planning, so they don't "blow" the $$ as soon as they get it.
